Gold Seeking

Chip is watching the news, and sees the rusty cans of gold coins worth about ten million dollars a woman walking her dog found in her backyard. She's been walking by the same tree they were buried under for years, apparently. He's also reading The Luminaries, a big historical novel that takes place during the New Zealand Gold Rush era in the nineteenth century. From our backyard, he can see the start of the Dalton Trail at Pyramid Harbor (on the backside of Pyramid Island) that's the jumping off point of another book on his shelf about striking it rich,  Gold Seeking on the Dalton Trail. No wonder he looks over at me and says " Next time you take Pearl for a walk, find us some gold will you?"  So yesterday I did, sort of--
