I live and write on Lingít Aaní, and gratefully acknowledge the past, present and future caretakers of this beautiful place, the Jilkaat Kwaan and Jilkoot Kwaan.

Here’s two of the “most read” articles in today’s Alaska Dispatch  and both are about Haines. (And no, I did not have anything to do with either one, except that Chip was a sponsor of the no corporate personhood for Haines initiative.) Basically, Haines gets a nice thumbs up on our vote for human beings vs. corporations and a kind of bad thumbs down that sounds a little off to me– but I’ll let you read it for yourself. (Hint:  If you were at the Klondike or the Pioneer Friday night you may want to weigh in with a comment about what happened with the Gold Rush crew.)
