Cue the Jaws Music

Here's what Forte and I found this morning on our walk...

Cue the jaws music. It is a shark, about eight feet long. The blood is from the ravens and eagles picking on it. (It is quite dead.) Chip said, "can we eat the steaks?" and I said no. We think it may be a salmon shark, and have heard old timers say that they sometimes come up this way to eat seals this time of year. Our friend Teslyn, a fisherwoman, says she thinks it is a sleeper shark. We called our son-in-law who is a fisheries biologist and he's coming over for a closer look. I'll let you know what I learn. I do know I've never seen a shark here before.
