Halloween Woman's Day Column

I wish I could write a country song, and since I haven't been able to do that, I thought I'd try a poem inspired one-- (Morning Miracles on the previous blog entry.) Hope it is not too self indulgent to publish your own works in progress, but there you have it. Here is a more polished piece, my Halloween Woman's Day column. In the meantime, I need to get to work on the Valentine's Day one. I want to have a draft done in time to be at the pool to see Genny and Harry race 100 meters at 12:30. Genny swam in the Olympic trials a few years ago. Harry, as far as I know, hasn't been in the pool since he took swimming lessons as a child. He thinks he can beat her with flippers on. It may not exactly be Billie Jean King vs. Bobby Riggs, but it should be fun. Speaking of fun, the fair is holding a 5K Halloween run/walk tomorrow, Friday, at 5:30pm. Costumes are encouraged. Head lamps and flashlights will be a must. I'd avoid costumes that will catch the wind or be ruined if they get wet.
