Join me for a post swim cocktail? Kate Mundy, my alter-ego in “Dancing at Lughnasa” would no doubt approve of a tablespoon of cod liver oil washed down with a pint of cider, water, and a vitamin C packet. This why when everyone else laughs when Kate pulls out the cod liver oil and says ” your far too pale” and ” it’s because you take no exercise,” I am a wee bit puzzled…
I have been suffering from squirrel brain anxiety lately. I even typed a whole page here yesterday (about pot no less, legal now, what was I thinking?) and the day before (about the weather— honestly–) but then I deleted them. This is what happens as you wait for a book to come out and the publicity people are cheering all sorts of “good omens,” (as Gerry Evans, that “loafer” and “wastrel” from “Lughnasa”, would say)– it makes you totally crazy.
Well, the lumber yard did have a rush on potting soil and inquiries for cloning hormones for pot plants. And it really does feel like spring, and that’s so nice– except, that globally this weird winter is very worrisome, if not terrifying.
I will miss the animated short Oscar nominated films tonight at the Chilkat Center at 7, they will be shown in the lobby, but I’ll be in the theater with the rest of the Mundy family rehearsing. The golfing is good, I hear, too- and the Dick Hotch tourney starts tomorrow night, and I don’t know about the winter Olympics Saturday. There will be much improvising, for sure. Oh, and remind me to order sushi from the school today, would you? I can bring a party platter to the cast Saturday. (It’s a fundraiser for the music program.)
One more thing– I have fiddled with the home page here, and posted some early reviews of Find the Good, and such, take a look, if you are curious. And this is kind of neat, and a surprise, from the Huffington Post last week.
