I live and write on Lingít Aaní, and gratefully acknowledge the past, present and future caretakers of this beautiful place, the Jilkaat Kwaan and Jilkoot Kwaan.

Well, this sure is good news for heliskiers– and for the keepers of the record books–

The concert was wonderful last night- Moira Smiley and Voco, three women with a banjo and cello—  I’m still humming their last tune– an old hymn– and through eternity, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on, and through eternity, I’ll sing on. We all have a choice about how to greet the day. I choose song. Well, this morning I’m back to that new one the choir is practicing– the one Nancy set to Emily Dickinson–  “And still the pensive spring returns, and still the punctual snow.” Speaking of punctual–  mark your calendars for the Permaculture gardening class registration tomorrow– call Nate at 766-6727 for more info, and Friday it’s Lunafest, short films about women to raise funds for the Wisewoman Hospice travel cancer fund, at Harriet Hall 5:30-8:30 with a silent auction and dinner too– and Saturday night from 5:30-8:30 at the school is a gourmet Mexican dinner fundraiser “For the Birds”  for the new bird observatory. I’m donating a dinner for 4 at my house–  Call Pam for more info at 766-3542.
