I live and write on Lingít Aaní, and gratefully acknowledge the past, present and future caretakers of this beautiful place, the Jilkaat Kwaan and Jilkoot Kwaan.

It’s snowing. I know, ’nuff said.  There’s music in the stacks from noon-1 at the library featuring Dr. Feldman on his concertina. Tomorrow at noon it’ s that wayfaring mariner Scott Pearce & Friends band “Howl’s Pals” and Friday it’s Liz Marantz Falvey on violin and perhaps a guest cello player. Also at 4:00 this afternoon at the library there will be a demonstration of the new ereader for libraries (you borrow electronic books on them). Thursday evening at 5:30 it’s dinner and cool films about women, Lunafest, at Harriett Hall. Also, for you yoga fans, there is now Monday and Friday “lunchbox” noon-1 at the Chilkat Center dance studio. The vet is in town next week, call Lori at 766-2867 for an appointment. Hospice’s annual huge spring rummage sale is coming up on April 27-28. Drop off for donations is April 26 at the ANB hall. The snow may be just what you needed to get a jump start on spring cleaning. Hospice loves furniture, housewares, tools, bedding, knick knacks, kids stuff, sporting goods, and small appliances, but will only take two boxes per family of clothing, and they have to be clean and in good shape– and please, drop off only fairly modern electronics. Also, they can’t accept winter gear or holiday decorations. (Nobody wants to see another pair of snowpants until the fall!)
