I live and write on Lingít Aaní, and gratefully acknowledge the past, present and future caretakers of this beautiful place, the Jilkaat Kwaan and Jilkoot Kwaan.

From Anne Sexton’s poem, Welcome Morning:

So while I think of it,

let me paint a thank-you on my palm

for this God, this laughter of the morning,

lest it go unspoken.

The Joy that isn’t shared, I’ve heard,

dies young.

I apologize for not checking in more recently, but the family is (almost- one more to go) all home which is crazy and fun, and as the poem says, ’tis the season to share the joy. I don’t want to miss any of it. I have been posting photos on facebook, though, and Monday will have another review of Gold Rush Alaska.
